Blue Song by Mint Royal Directed by Edgar Wright

The video for Blue Song by Mint Royal directed by Edgar Wright can clearly be compared with the short film The Fly and later Edgar Wright's film Baby Driver. The video begins with a group of four men in a car who are going to perform some sort of crime. The getaway driver, played by Noel Fielding, uses the music to time the heist and in a way to make him look less suspicious. He lip syncs along to the lyrics so it looks like he is the one singing the song. In terms of the narrative Noel Fielding's character sits in the car waiting for the others to finish the crime, and tries to look as inconspicuous as he can. When the song ends the men come back and they drive away. Certain devices are used so that actions in the film are rhythmically in time with the music being played, for example the windscreen wipers and the men shutting their car doors.
